We were actually supposed to stay at home and relax today. Unfortunately the weather god didn't want us to lay at the pool and so we decided to go a little further south. After checking the weather report we were sure it would be the right weather to go to the Everglades. Because we didn't get so much sleep last night we had a fast breakfast and fell asleep again as soon as we were in the car. (I can't believe we can sleep like that lol)
The target was Captain Doug's Airboat Tour. When we came there we were far from being alone there. Neverthless the woman at the counter told us we would only have to wait for 45 minutes and so we stayed. When we waited we had the opportunity to hold an aligator. I didn't want to because i think that's exaggerated. It doesn't teach you anything and i feel sorry for the animals in their very little cages. My husband and ashleigh didn't care so much and so we have some pictures anyway.
45 Minutes seemed to be so long because it was so very hot and every Captain we saw coming to land we hoped would be Captain Dwayne.
But the waiting was definetely worth it. I've been on airboat rides before but i've never been on one so good. We could get up to see everything closer and he even asked us if we want to smoke on the boat after he saw my cigarettes almost falling out of my pocket. At the end he even showed us something what belongs to another airboat ride company but he said hes my buddy so its ok. I hope the picture can approximately show how wonderful our day was.
After this we walked down a trail because Dwayne told us we could see gators there but unfortunately we only saw one.
Before we went back to the house we had a little snack at Ruby Tuesdays and got some things we needed from Publix.
Afterwards we jumped into the pool
